So I’m watching the Matrix for the 999999th time and I still
find it hilarious how the Oracle gives Neo a cookie just like we
have to accept cookies on our computers.

I remember seeing this movie on a VHS player, I also remember thinking this was the best movie ever.
I hadn’t seen anything like it. Watching the fight scenes thinking: “This is straight from Dragon Ball Z”.
And of course that 360 degrees camera move where Neo dodges the bullets O_o’
That blew my pre-teen mind in so many pieces I was beyond hooked. It also made me think
That computer’s and “hacking” were cool. The Matrix and Hackers sure played a huge part of my childhood, getting into computers and learning as much as I could.
This movie designed it’s own world and universe so well that it’s trilogy has marked itself as one of the most important trilogies in cinema… In my opinion. Years later I’ve found that it was heavily inspired in Ghost in the Shell, which it makes perfect sense. Because there was no way in hell, these fight scenes and angles were a 100% original.

I also remember attending a local tech-convention and this was when DVDs were just coming out and they were they biggest best things. But also as hackers would call… the beginning of “ripping” DVDs and burning CDs. I clearly remember passing by a booth where they were showcasing a brand new laptop, no idea the brand or model, what caught my eye was that they were playing a ripped/burned copy of The Matrix to showcase the colors and the speed of the laptop’s screen.
In a nutshell, this movie still brings me joy and still inspires me after all this years and after so many times that I have watched this. It pumps me up to keep learning anything new in tech. The craziest thing about this movie surviving the effect of time is that now I can watch it with my kids. Which is insane to me that I can enjoy this movie as well as they do.
Such a great movie and a fantastic trilogy, filled with tons of easter eggs and so many theories that still have many people turning heads. If you have been living under a rock and have never seen this movie.
I cannot stress it enough, how fast you should see this.
